Backing up your computer data, files, programs and information is supposed to be a fairly large undertaking, but there are new software titles being offered that make the job less of an ordeal.

One option if you’ve been meaning to implement a PC backup program on your computer at home or at work is to use NTI Backup Now.
One of the biggest benefits of the software is that it backs up your files, data and information to a DVD or CD drive. It supports Windows version 98, Me, 2000 and XP.

Why is this important? For those who are not knowledgeable about computer programs, finding a way to back up and retrieve information may be a serious issue. While backing up to another hard drive is an option, some people may not feel they have the expertise to accomplish that.



The NewTech InfoSystems Backup Now 4.0 can be purchased in two versions.
The full Backup Now 4.0 Deluxe Suite includes a complete file level backup part and a full image backup part. The image backup utility copies all system files and Windows setting.
The other cheaper version only includes the file level backup software part.

The program is simply a software program and should be no more difficult to install than other software programs. However, some who have written reviews on the software indicate that they did have problems and that there was little useful technical support.

The reviews on the Backup Now program are fairly mixed with some people raving about the program and others expressing sincere dissatisfaction. At least some of this – as with all reviews – can likely be attributed to the expectations at the front end of the purchase.

More than one review points out that the technical support behind the product is poor. That may seem like an insignificant detail in the overall quality of the program, but it can be a major point if you have trouble understanding the directions or difficulty with the installation.

Another criticism of Backup Now is that it’s expensive but there are several online sources for this program in the $40 range. While that may still seem expensive to some, it’s really no more so than most computer programs of this type.

One of the major advantages of this program seems to be its ability to backup files quickly, but some reviewers report that the process slows down in some situations.

There are some positive points touted about the software, including the ability to backup to multiple CD or DVD drives automatically if the backup takes more than one disk. That can be an important feature if you want to leave the computer to back up the files on its own.

Though the reviews are mixed, there seem to be some who are not pleased with the product’s performance. This will always be the case. You have some options, including the opportunity to find and read reviews for yourself before you make the purchase.
