Sophsticated Windows 7 Free Data Backup

Don’t just rely on your computer hard disk. Back it up! Anything could happen. Your computer crashes. You got your computer spilled. Your computer was stolen. It is a disaster, and it goes down in an instant.

Backing up files is one of the hassles in computer maintenance.  To some, they may do it manually in going over the files that they have not backed up. But, it’s worth it, rather than losing all your life’s work. Getting copies of your files is the simplest and most common way to backup. This is generally free in all types of operating systems, whether it’s a Mac, Windows or Linux. You may copy it in a thumb drive, a disc, to a mobile hard drive, online or to a remote location.

What most users do in free backing up files is a one-at-a time Copy and Paste function in operating systems. However, the problem here is versioning. Users tend to get confused with which file has the most updated information. You may wish that you save files automatically and incrementally, that is, the file could automatically be saved with just the new changes created rather producing a new file name.

But there is good news! Free data backing up of files does not need to be a hassle. The new Windows 7 has an easy dummy-proof built-in computer backup system and this not only allows you to do Copy and Paste function but it does wonders in incremental backups.  Back and Restore allows you to choose which drive you plan to back-up and you can in fact create an Image-based backup.

Though Windows 7 comes in different flavors, regardless of that, Backup and Restore function is always present. No more excuse for all Windows 7 computer users. You can always backup your files while you are working with the computer.

Simply go to Start, type Backup, and choose Backup and Restore. Plug your computer back-up storage devices (writable or rewritable discs, thumb drives or mobile hard drive).  Click Set Up Back up. Choose among the Location options – Let Windows choose or manually select. Windows 7 will backup libraries, appdata, downloaded files and favorites. Click Next when you’re finished. The last screen allows you to create schedule backup on a regular basis and to review the files that you want to back up. The backup will now begin. You can check the status of the back-up in the same Back-up and Restore Window. Users need not worry about the confusing versions of the files since Windows 7 will do it for you.

To create image-based backup, go to Backup and Restore Center by typing backup on Start Search.  Click on Create a System Image. Select a location where you would like to save the image and click Next. Review the settings indicated and pay attention to the amount of space required to backup.  Click Start Backup to start the process. Take note that doing an image-based backup takes a few hours, which could vary on your hard drive.

Windows 7 is a massive development of Microsoft. The computer backup system is one of the major features of this Windows version aside from its fast and interactive GUI. Free computer back up has never been this easy without paying a cent!
