Firewire to USB adapter ports could greatly affect the speed of data transfer

The use of external hard drive devices has become a necessity when using a computer. These devices play a major factor in making computers the best medium for work in offices, schools, and other work places. With the use of external hard drive devices the capacity of a computer to store data has greatly increased making it easier for the user to work efficiently and faster. However, these devices are still prone to latency.

Take for example the USB, data transfer through this device is a bit slow because there are many USB ports in a computer which are used for different purposes like the USB port for the internet cable which could cause latency to the other USB ports as it shares only one memory drive. But there is another type of an external hard drive device which has a single port exclusively for its use therefore has a much faster capacity in transferring data compared to the regular USB that would be the firewire. But we can also connect a firewire to USB adapter just as long as you have special cable that is used to connect to a USB adapter.

The firewire is a type of serial bus interface for computers and digital videos which can offer high speed communications and isochronus real-time data services. This type of device works very well with television and cable boxes but is also used in upgrading the data transfer speed of computers and notebooks.

The USB adapter and firewire are two separate high-speed bus technologies that are used to connect different devices to a computer. Since the USB and firewire are not integrated it is also impossible to connect a USB device to a firewire port directly. Although there is a firewire to USB adapter cable used to transfer digital video, this is only manufactured by one company and can be a bit expensive and hard to find.
Considering that the firewire to USB adapter seems impossible to connect without the use of the firewire to USB cable there is still another way to use your firewire or USB adapter through the use of dual firewire/USB hubs which are provided by some manufacturers. This device has two ports which can be used as internal or external in a single hub. One of these ports is used for firewire and the other is for USB allowing either of the two devices to function. This type of device is also known as a combination hub as it combines two separate ports in a single form factor for convenience although there is no direct conversion between firewire and USB with the use of such hubs.

Here are some Firewire products:

External FireWire & USB 2.0 Blu-ray Burner
It records or burns 50GB on Blu-Ray disc and it is compatible with DVD and CD formats.  It can be used in both PC and Mac. This is also compatible for the firewire to USB adapter process.

Unibrain FireWire WebCam - Fire-i Digital Camera
This webcam device has advanced picture quality and it has software that supports PC, Mac and Linux.  Its unique feature is that it has Fire-i Software that allows you to locally or manually monitor multiple cameras.  For every camera connected, you can easily capture videos and snapshots by simply pressing a button. This device can also work through the USB adapter.

Belkin FireWire 6-Port hub
Belkin Fire Wire 6-Port hub impeccably supports digital cameras including web cams, printers, scanners and other DV (digital video) devices.  It also acts as a FireWire repeater because if you connect FireWire devices to this hub it can draw more power from the hub making the operation faster plus it could also be use for firewire to USB adapter.

It is a video editing kit that allows you to connect your ipods and digital video camcorders to your laptop through this Cardbus slot.  This makes your digital video editing fast and easy.

The future of data transfer has never been brighter with the introduction of external hard drive devices and it doesn’t stop there, constant evolution of the hardware is also important as it is where these devices are connected to. The USB adapter has considerably achieved a step higher up the ladder of technological evolution as it is constantly upgraded to accommodate new upgraded devices and to adapt to the process of firewire to USB adapter.
