There are many ways to make a drive image copy of your hard disk.

How will you define an image backup or image hard disk or drive image copy? This is actually an exact copy (bit by bit) of your hard drive. It is basically cloning the hard disk to create and exact image of the original hard disk. There is a slight difference between having a file by file data backup or file by file drive copy against the final image backup copy. In an image backup, it is able to copy any partitions and other important information on the drive. 

Let me feature the different backup softwares that you may want to have for your own computer. Introducing first the EzBackup software which actually does a complete image copy of the hard drive. It actually allows one to have automatic scheduled file backups. Next, there is another related software called Ezmigration drive migration. It is able to transfer the entire contents of your hard disk to a new drive which is a single image copy. If you want to create another partition expansion, it will also take care of that thing.

To make sure you will have a successful transition of your files in creating an image backup or drive image copy of your computer is to make sure that the backup drive has a larger size or capacity compared to your original or source drive. In simple terms, you can’t create a drive image of a 80-GB hard drive onto a 40-GB drive. That will definitely not fit or it isn’t enough.  It is necessary that you do periodic backup of your individual files after the image copy has successfully created. This is to make your backup up to date!

The two backup softwares mentioned above will contain everything on your source drive including partitions, your operating systems, applications, settings and all your data files with its applicable softwares installed over time. In other words, just the exact copy of it.

Just in case your source drive will fail to function like your data or files are corrupted and you can no longer boot your computer, you can always access your computer through the EzBackup tool which can either restore you source drive or make it working or perhaps just transfer your drive details to another replacement drive. The software’s restore process is thought to be very simple and easy. Once you have it complete, you can have all your corrupted information restored. And your computer will function just as normal as it should. It will also eliminate the need to reinstall you operating system and other software applications. If there are any updates, these will be carried out. In getting the difference of using EzBackup from other backup softwares is that the drive image created is not encrypted or compressed. So it means that your file will remain unchanged. It means that your data or file is safe from being corrupted.

It is easy to schedule a file or a folder backup on an EzBackup once the drive image copy is created. You will have the option to overwrite the existing files or simply maintain multiple separate backups with their own restore points.
Do you think disk cloning is a good way to backup as well? Actually, this is created primarily for boot and restore function but it became to be a good data backup option. So here’s a slight view about it.

You only need to have the boot and restore option if you need a quick reinstallation of your operating system on an empty hard disk. Just make sure the settings and applications are in a working state. Some hardware manufacturers usually have this technique who gives their user to be able to work right away without wasting his time on installing the software.

Since the effectiveness of disk cloning has shown some important ways to backup data as it is able to restore the user data in case of a hard drive failure but all the boot information, softwares, computer settings, operating systems will be restored back. But one thing you should note is that disk cloning could be complicated and requires a lot of technical skills.

It doesn’t mean that you have created an image copy of your hard disk, you have already saved your data. It only assumes data restoration. What is important is to have a bootable disk image. Make sure to use a disk cloning software if you want to backup your data using such method.
