Disk copy utility makes it easier for the user to copy the contents of the hard drive

One of the most important parts of a computer is its disk drives; its function is to store the system content of the computer which makes the computer operational. Imagine what it would be like if your disk drives are unsupported, your computer’s capacity would be limited and not only that the risk of having a computer crash is very high if your disk drives are corrupted. That is why the disk copy utility is created to serve as a backup for the main disk drives in case such instances are unavoidable.






A disk copy utility is a software which allows the user to copy all content from hard drive to hard drive or to a CD or DVD.  Basically, this disk utility helps the user to backup data and for the data to be restored in case the hard disk fails in the future.  It is used in imaging hard drive so the user can have exactly the same content and settings after the disk is restored.  There are several disk copy utilities used in imaging hard drive.

Another use of the disk copy solution for Mac is to copy 400K floppy disks by using as few disk swaps as possible on a machine with a RAM of 128K only while using the original disk copy as a screen buffer to store binary data from the copied disk.

:    It can copy the creation, compression, encryption and conversion of the imaging hard drive for CD/DVD images which is identical to the .iso format in HFS plus format which is not compatible to windows. The disk copy software can also be used for reading a wide range of formats that can be read by the actual disk utility.

:    It is also used as a copy utility for the disk utility task of verifying a disk’s integrity and the ability to repair the disk if damaged. This task will work for both format partitions as FAT-32 partitions with Microsoft Windows and Mac format partitions.

:    The disk copy software for Mac is also used to securely delete free space or disk by using a 35-pass Gutmann algorithm, “zero out” data, and the 7-pass DOD 5220-22 M standard.

:    Another main function of the disk copy utility is to enable or disable journaling while checking the S.M.A.R.T status of a hard disk. It can also be used to restore volumes from Apple Software Restore images and could give a boost to the imaging hard drive.
